As Thanksgiving approaches, it's the perfect time to get crafty and create stunning décor items.
These DIYs don't need to be complicated or elaborate.
One fun and simple DIY decor project is this idea, a 'Thanksgiving Grass Vase' that is adorned with pretty mini wooden heart cutouts.
I decided on a neutral colour scheme, but you can utilise this idea and create a more colourful design if you wish.
What You'll Need:
· Small dry clay balls ( I used the Egmont LECA brand)
· A glass vase
· Decorative artificial grass
· A small piece of dry florists' foam
·Small pinecones
· Thin twine rope, mini wooden hearts, and a larger rattan heart.
· A thin wood slab to display the finished arrangement on.
To Make:
1: Start by choosing your vase. A clear glass vase will showcase the clay balls beautifully.
2: Place a piece of dry florist foam into the bottom of the vase. Use a piece that leaves a gap around it so the clay balls will disguise it.
3: Push the spray of artificial grass into the florist foam and arrange the stems and leaves.
4: Carefully fill up the vase with the clay balls, leaving a gap of about 1 inch at the top of the vase.
5: top the vase with a few mini pinecones.
6: Cut lengths of twine to use as hangers for the hearts. Thread the twine through each of the mini hearts, knotting the ends to make a hanger. Hang the mini hearts onto the grass spray.
7: Cut decorative frayed fabric ribbon to fit around the vase. Tie in a simple knot at the front of the vase.
8: Tuck the larger rattan heart into the stems of the grass at the front of the vase.
Place your 'DIY Thanksgiving Decor Vase' on your dining table, mantel, hall entrance or coffee table, with the felt mat and the thin wood slab underneath it.
