Simple Sparkly Living Christmas Tree

 DIY Living Christmas Tree

Let's create a simple 'Sparkly Living Christmas Tree!

I love ornately decorated large Christmas trees, whether they be cut real ones or artificial.

But this Christmas season, as we are in the middle of our tiny house build, and there is building chaos everywhere, I decided to keep it very simple.

Note: The artwork is by my husband, Marc.

DIY Living Christmas Tree

With a small potted live plant in a beautiful ceramic pot, decorated with red twine ribbon, with pretty sparkly fairy lights.

This would be lovely for your home decor too.

Perhaps on a mantel, coffee table or in your hallway entrance.

It takes ten minutes to put it together.

You will need a live plant of your choice.
A ceramic pot with a matching saucer.
Ribbon or red woven twine ribbon.
Scissors.
Double-sided tape.
Mini battery operated fairy lights.

I chose a Grevillea instead of my usual pine or conifer choice.
After Christmas, I'll plant it in my garden.
The flowers are cream and green hence the name;
'Grevillea Cream & Green'.
It will grow into a rounded shrub, and the flowers will attract nectar feeding birds.

DIY Living Christmas Tree
Attach a piece of double-sided tape to the back of the pot.

Press your ribbon onto it leaving enough length to go around to the front to make a bow.

Place another piece of double-sided tape on the front of the pot to hold the ribbon in place.

Tie a bow.

The Pros of Choosing a Living Christmas Tree

Here are some compelling reasons to choose a living tree, large or small this holiday season:

Environmental Benefits

One of the most significant advantages of a living Christmas tree is its positive impact on the environment. Unlike artificial trees, which can take hundreds of years to decompose, living trees are biodegradable and contribute to the ecosystem.

Reuse and Replant

A living Christmas tree can be replanted in your home's garden space allowing you to enjoy it for years to come.

Or you could get adventurous and bonsai it.

Improved Indoor Air Quality

Living trees can enhance indoor air quality through the process of photosynthesis. While your Christmas tree is inside, it will absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, providing a fresh atmosphere that artificial trees simply cannot replicate.

A Beautiful, Natural Aesthetic

There’s a unique charm to a living Christmas tree that adds warmth and beauty to any home.  The natural look of a living tree also allows for creativity in decorating, making every tree distinctive.

. This year, consider making the switch, and enjoy all that a living Christmas tree has to offer!
