Beyond their delightful flavour, blueberries come packed with nutritional benefits. They are known as "brain food," blueberries and are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, which can support cognitive function.

St Patrick's Day Home Decor Decorating

Our project today is to make the final two things for our St Patrick's day decor and create the mini vignette.

St Patricks Day Craft and Home decor ideas

Over the past week, for St Patrick's Day, we have created:

St Patricks Day Crafts

A Beaded Garland

St Patricks Day Crafts

A Shamrock Art Frame

Today, we are crafting a flower vase by upcycling a tin can,

and making a mini pot of gold.

TO MAKE:

UpcyclingUpcycling

Beaded Can Vase

Can

Gold spray paint

Wire

Beads

Glue Gun

Fresh flowers and greenery or artificial

.

Spray paint the can gold.

Leave to dry.

Cut wire to fit around the can leaving enough extra to twist and tighten the two ends.

Thread the beads onto the wire.

Use the hot glue to position the centre bead.

Put several dobs of glue around the can centre to hold the beads in place.

Carefully twist the wire ends together at the back of the can.

Fill with water and add fresh or artificial flowers of your choice.

.

Mini Pot of Gold

 Small glass pot without lid

(I used a honey taste test pot)

Gold spray paint

A gold gauze jewellery bag

Gold chains and jewellery bits

(I had the broken ones in my stash, but you could buy cheap Dollar Store gold jewellery)

.

Spray paint jar gold.

When the paint is dry, push the gold gauze bag into the pot.

Then take your chosen gold jewellery pieces and drape them over the gauze.

.

Now it is time to put all the St Patrick's Day elements together into one decor vignette.

St Patricks Day Craft and Home decor ideas

The base of the St Patrick's vignette is a round rattan place mat.

I used a small wood slice to place under the can vase.

And filled it with golden, yellow and orange flowers, with sprays of foliage.

Then added the shamrock art frame, the little pot of gold and the beaded lucky garland.

The end result is a stylish St Patrick's Day mini vignette.

St Patricks Day Coconut Ice Sweets

St Patrick's Day Baking

Ok - I am fooling with Y'all a little....

this is an unbaked ordinary coconut ice,

St Patrick's Day Bakingsweet...delicious...

St Patrick's Day Baking
and 'Oh so simple' to make.

St Patrick's Day Baking

The Irish bit is just the fact that it has Leprechaun green colouring added
to one layer instead of the standard pink colouring!
All you need are four ingredients.
Sweetened condensed milk.
Powdered icing sugar
Dessicated coconut
And green food colouring.

St Patrick's Day Baking

St Patrick's Day Coconut Ice

250 gram (3/4 US cup) can of sweetened condensed milk
200 grams (1 and 3/5 US cups) fine dessicated coconut
250 grams (2 and 1/4 US cups) powdered icing sugar
Green food colouring
Extra Powdered icing sugar for rolling and shaping.

1. Using a wooden spoon, mix together the sweetened condensed milk and powdered icing sugar in a large bowl.
The mixture will be very stiff. Work the coconut into the mixture until well combined.
Don't be tempted to add liquid of any sort.
A little muscle power is required, or just pop the mixture into an electric mixer and let that do the hard work.
2. Split the mixture into two even lots.
Knead a few drops of green food colouring into one half of the mixture.
Dust a clean benchtop or board with more powdered icing sugar. Shape each half separately into a rectangle shape.
Place the green layer on top of the white layer.
Roll with a rolling pin to gently press the two together, reshaping with your hands until it is about 3cm thick.  Place on a parchment lined tray and leave uncovered overnight to set.
Cut into squares with a sharp knife.

This coconut Ice will keep for one month in an airtight container in the pantry.
