Don't you just love it when you stumble across a major BARGAIN!!!
And that is exactly what I found with this throw at Briscoes a few months back.
It was everything I love in a throw....
It looked like a hand-knit in heavy-weight chunky gorgeousness.
It was creamy white.
(Even though I LOVE colour - I also LOVE neutrals)
And the price was outstanding -
$159.95 - marked down to 59.95!!!
But there was just one little problem with it...
The metallic stripe, though pretty, was rose gold, and my living space is accessorised with gold accessories!
Some may not have been at all concerned with that, but I thought it looked completely out of place as all other metallic pops in the decor were gold!
But I bought it anyway.
So you can see my problem here...
Gold and rose gold.
Emmmm....
So I foraged in the lace store box and found this pretty crochet-style lace.
How perfect was that?
I pinned, then stitched the beautiful cotton lace over the rose gold coloured stripe on the blanket using a sewing machine.
Just a 10-minute job to do!
And now have the perfect throw
- with a little bling still showing through the lace.
It's just enough to avoid the rose gold and gold clash problem I had before.
I'm very happy with how this project turned out!

Great buy on your chunky blanket and a perfect solution to make the "bling" fit your décor. Thank you for sharing at Snickerdoodle and I am featuring your post at the party Saturday.
Thank you Sharon :)
