In love with Magnolias...

Magnolia 'Black Tulip'...

An outstanding performer in the garden.

New Zealand raised by Mark Jury,
this stunning magnolia has large cup like blooms.

They are dark ruby red (mine has pink undertones).

Magnolia 'Black Tulip' will grow to a height of 6 metres by 4 metres...
The like acid soil and are deciduous.

Available via most New Zealand Garden Centres
or through Wairere Nursery online

The magnolia centres are complete bee food...
not to mention incredibly interesting to look at.

And each year in Mia Bella Gardens the tree produces more and more flowers that last an incredible time.

  1. I love magnolias, they're so beautiful! I'm starting to think that I might need to put one in my garden...

  2. Tracey, I love seeing the magnolias bloom in the Spring here. The large flowers are definitely a show stopper. I'd love to have a few on my property but they don't do too well in our sandy soil so when I'm out and about in town I always like to stop and admire them xo

  3. I love Magnolias, their beautiful waxy blooms always bring a smile to my face. We're lucky enough to have a Marillyn and Susan in our garden and they never ceases to amaze me. Beautiful

  4. At first I thought this was a rose. I didn't realize a magnolia could be red. It is beautiful
