Share sweet heart-shaped morsels this Valentine's Day with some home-baked chocolate dipped heart cookies.
Make a batch of sugar cookies, cut into heart shapes and bake.
Melt dark chocolate...
Dip half the cookie into the chocolate.
You could leave them chocolate dipped.
Cover in candy sprinkles...
Or use a tube of writing icing...
To write the word Love on the chocolate covered half of the cookies.
Then share with those you love.
Sugar Cookies
Preheat the oven to 175 °C (350°F)
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 large egg
- 2 ½ cups plain flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- Use a stand mixer, or a hand-held mixer to cream the butter and sugar, and beat until pale and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract and beat until completely combined.
- Sift the flour and baking powder over the wet mix and combine to create a dough.
- The dough is quite moist, but flour the bench top, and sprinkle the top of the dough to roll out to your desired cookie depth.
- The thinner the dough, the crisper the cookie.
- The thicker the dough, the softer it will be.
- Cut out shapes and place them on prepared parchment paper-lined trays.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Cool completely before icing.

Thank you for the invitation.
Yum! I wish we had Cadbury Melts here. They look terrific!
The melts are basically just cooking chocolate, so I'm sure whatever brand of cooking chocolate you have where you are would work too. :)
These look so sweet Tracey Lee. Thank you for sharing at Create, Bake, Grow & Gather this week.
Thank you Kerryanne. :)
So glad you stopped over - hope to see you tomorrow for the new party too!
