Upcycle a chandelier into an outdoor candelabra...

DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
I picked up this  vintage chandelier style light fitting at the thrift store...
I knew straight away that I wanted to up-cycle it,
into a candelabra for the back porch.
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
And it is gorgeous, in aged brass glory.
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
It's so heavy!
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
And the patina is stunning.
I know brass and copper are quite popular in home décor right now.
And I'm probably going to cop a bit of banter when I tell ya all
I actually bought matte black spray paint to paint it black!
When nitty came to gritty.
I just could not do it!
I even posted a 'Shall I - shan't I' pic for debate on Hometalk!
With the consensus of the votes
to 'leave it be'.
Paint free.
In its original fabulousness.
And so I did!
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
The faulty wiring was cut out...
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
The light-bulb fitting removed so a candle would fit in its place...
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
The ceiling rose nailed up to the deck roof
and the chandelier hung.
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
Long slim candles were fitted where the bulbs once resided.
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
And I'm already loving it!
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
The candles were lit.
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
After a while
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
the wax began to melt
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
Creating beautiful waxy drips...
wax drips are an art form in itself!
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
I'm in love with candles....
DIY Outdoor Lighting Ideas
And upcycled chandeliers
made into outdoor candelabras.

Reminder:  Never leave burning candles unattended.

Back Porch Table Flowers...

I must have flowers always and always!

Claude Monet - I totally agree!
For what is life without the beauty of flowers?

Picked flowers are not just for the inside of the home...
The gorgeous bowl of lilies is on the back porch mosaic table...
This lily is a Belladonna variety.
Also know as 'Naked Ladies' -
due to the fact the flowers emerge first without the modesty of any foliage.
Easy to grow and fabulous for picking!
It's stunning in creamy whites
with a golden yellow throat.

I must have flowers always and always!
