DIY Cute Button Pin Tacks...

I'm still beavering away at the office makeover,
and the room has suddenly developed pops of yellow!

The pot plant got switched,
as I thought the black pot was just too big.
The new orchid is potted in a crackle glazed yellow pot!
Then that meant that I covered the coffee coaster in a yellow-toned fabric.
All that was needed was some new thumb tacks...
And look what I found in the button stash!
The cutest yellow-toned buttons and embroidered flowers.

Perfect for the upcycled thumb tack idea.
I saw this somewhere in Pinterest land.

All you do is put a dab of hot glue on top of the pin tack

DIY Coffee Coaster Fabric Makeover...

The 'Let's make the home office beautiful project' continues with a coffee coaster makeover.
Nothing worse than coffee cup rings all over the desk,
(Did I mention I LOVE coffee?)
So a pretty coaster was the obvious answer!

Fab excuse to use some pretty fabric from the stash...

All I did was paint over the picture on a coaster with white paint.
This created a neutral back ground for the fabric.

After the paint is dry, cut fabric to fit , leaving a fold-over edge.
Then glued (mod podged) the fabric on top.
When it was dry, I folded the fabric under the coaster and glued it.

As you can see, the Mod Podge will dry clear.
Leave for 24 hours, then spray it with a clear enamel sealer.

DIY Chalkboard Labels...

Right now I'm LOVING anything chalkboard...
so I thought I'd whip up some chalkboard labels for the home office makeover.
Label templates are freely available on the Net.

These cute heart shaped labels from;
Office organisation ideas.
and these funky shaped ones were sourced from a simple Google Search for 'Free Printable Shapes'.

Print the labels onto paper with your home printer, and then cut them out with scissors.
Use them as a stencil, outlining with a pencil or pen onto heavy cardboard.
